Dispense the dye into a small dish, adjust the shade with water if necessary, and apply in controlled passes while changing brush direction to help reduce uneven streaking. If you want a more personalised tone, mix it with compatible Craft Sha dyes and build the colour gradually.Allow the leather to dry fully before making a final colour judgment because wet leather appears darker than the finished result. Once the desired maroon brown shade is reached, let the piece dry thoroughly and apply leather finish or leather coat in 2 to 3 layers to help reduce rub off and support longer lasting colour on the completed leather surface. Please note that leather dyes will only yield desired results on untreated and uncoloured vegetable tanned leather. Application of dyes to already dyed/coloured leather will result in discolouration and darkening of the existing leather colour, and application of dyes on treated (e.g., waxed, lacquered, oiled, etc.) leather may result in inconsistent absorption.
