Remove the topsoil about 5 cm; then loosen the soil down to 13 cm deep. Remove organic impurities such as leaves and roots that may affect results. 2. Moisten the soil with water until muddy. (Rain or distilled water is recommended.) 3. Wipe the probe with a clean cloth or paper towel. 4. Turn the function button to the leftmost position. 5. Insert the probe into the soil until the soil level is no more than 2.5 cm from the device body. Wait up to 10 seconds for the reading to stabilize. 6. Record the data. Remove the probe and clean it thoroughly.
