When the fluid to be measured flows through the turbine flowmeter sensor, the fluid forces the impeller to rotate. The rotational speed is proportional to the average flow velocity in the pipeline. As the blades rotate, they periodically cut the magnetic field generated by the electromagnet, changing the magnetic flux in the coil. Based on the principle of electromagnetic induction, a pulsating electrical signal (electric pulse signal) is generated in the coil.
