1.11 mm thick steel faceplate provides heavy, rigid mounting for turning operations, improving stability, reducing deflection, and enhancing accuracy and surface finish. Optional thread sizes to match a range of lathes: 1 inch x 8 TPI, M33 x 3.5, M18 x 2.5. Flat spots cut on the back spigot enable easy removal from the lathe, supporting quick setup and changes between jobs. Locking set screw designed for use on reversing lathes, helping to secure the faceplate during reverse cutting and preventing rotation. Material and construction: steel faceplate built for durability in demanding turning applications. Use scenarios Scenario 1: Mounting long or delicate stock on a benchtop or mid size lathe where rigidity and concentricity are critical for achieving straight turning and a smooth finish. Scenario 2: Reversing lathe operations where secure clutching of the faceplate is needed. The locking set screw provides added reliability to prevent slippage during reverse cutting. Scenario 3: Multi machine compatibility. With three available thread options, one faceplate can be used across lathes that require 1 inch x 8 TPI, M33 x 3.5, or M18 x 2.5 threads, reducing the need for multiple adapters and simplifying tool setups.
